Wichita Startup Accelerator Graduates Its Largest Cohort

A Wichita startup accelerator held its demo day this week for its largest-ever cohort, showcasing 14 early-stage companies working on everything from aerospace software to agricultural technology and consumer apps.
The program, backed by local investors and civic groups, provides seed funding, mentorship, and workspace over an intensive several-month sprint. Organizers say building a durable startup ecosystem in Wichita is a long-term project, but one that is gaining momentum as founders choose to stay rather than decamp for the coasts.
"Talent here is deep, especially in anything touching aviation and manufacturing," the accelerator's director said. Several graduates announced follow-on funding at the event.
Boosters argue that a homegrown tech sector can diversify an economy long tied to aircraft production and its boom-and-bust cycles.
